Commissioning of Reagent Dosing System Upgrade
BMACO – Goonyella Riverside Mine (GRM)
Inete has provided the commissioning manager role for the commissioning of the new Reagent Dosing System at both CPP1 and CPP2 coal processing plants.
The new dosing systems include two large 53.3 kL tanks for MIBC and Diesel storage. From these tanks there exists the capability to pump the fluids via pumps from each tank into the plant dosing points. These are paired off for each Jameson Cell arrangement. The pumps are driven by electric motors which are supplied via VSD’s that are controlled over Profibus communications connected to one of the main PLC’s in the plants. The operators in the control room have the capability to manipulate the flow rates via the interactive Citect SCADA projects.
The electrical power required is supplied through the newly installed MCC which is fed through an existing MCC at each plant.
It involved the tie in of the new system with minimal disruption to operations. The old system has been subsequently removed after commissioning and proof of reliable operation of the new system.
